MEDAL OF HONOR - Highest Award Bestowed Upon Pilots. Must Continually Exhibit Dedication, Devotion, and Service and Always Fly with the Highest of Honor and Class. Awarded Only by the Command Staff. |

SILVER STAR - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Outstanding Devotion and Dedication In All Duties Pertaining to the Squadron. Must demonstrate Outstanding charactor, Valor and Dedication to the Squad. Must Recruit Three Pilots who are each with the Squad for a Minimum of Three Months. Awarded Only by the Command Staff. |

DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS - Awarded to Command Personnel who Exhibit Outstanding Leadership, Devotion, and Service while Always Flying with Honor and Class. Awarded Only by the Command Staff. |

BRONZE STAR - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Outstanding Service to the Squadron and Always Conducting Themselves with Honor and Integrity. Awarded Only by the Command Staff. |

PURPLE HEART - Awarded to those Pilots Wounded or Killed in the Line of Duty. |

|
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Exceptional Service to the betterment of the Squadron. Must go above and beyond in service to the squadron while maintaining high integrity, Honor, and courtesy. Awarded By Command Staff Only. |

SUPERIOR WINGMAN - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Outstanding Service in the Face of the Enemy. Awarded After Flying in Five Squad Matches Against Other Squads. |

DISTINGUISHED WINGMAN - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Outstanding Service in the Face of the Enemy. Awarded After Flying in Two Squad Matches Against Other Squads. Consecutive Awards Represented by Bronze, Silver, and Gold Bars. |

|
COMBAT EXCELLENCE - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Devotion, Service, Honor, and Integrity in Aerial Combat. Awarded After Three Matches Within the Squad. Consecutive Awards Represented by Bronze, Silver, and Gold Bars. |

MOST IMPROVED PILOT- Awarded Quarterly to the one pilot who has demonstrated the greatest improvement over the duration of the 3 months. Awarded By Command Staff Only. |
|
|
TRAINING EXCELLENCE AWARD - Awarded to pilots that help out with training others on flight principles, dogfight tactics, and Naval Operations (carriers, formation flying, etc). |
|
|
COMBAT READINESS - Awarded to Pilots who have Flown with the Squadron for at Least One Month and Exhibit Integrity, Leadership, and Devotion to Squad. |
|
|
NIGHT CENTURION AWARD - Awarded to Pilots who have Successfully completed 100 Night Carrier Landings within the squadron. |
|
|
DAY CENTURION AWARD - Awarded to Pilots who have Successfully completed 100 Carrier Landings within the squadron. |
|
|
CARRIER QUALIFICATION NIGHT- Must Complete Carrier Qualification Exam for night flight. Must land 6 times on a carrier at night without crashing. Pilot may Bolter but never crash. |
|
|

ATTENDANCE AWARD - Awarded to Pilots who Exhibit Outstanding Service and exceptional attendance to all Squadron functions. |

RECRUITING EXCELLENCE - Awarded to Pilots who Recruit One Pilot who Serves the Squad for One or More Months has made a Positive Contribution to the Squadron. |

|
AERIAL EXCELLENCE - Awarded to Pilots who have Successfully Completed Advanced Combat Manuevering (ACM) Training and Have Shown Dedication the Squadron. |

|
COMMISSIONED OFFICER - Awarded to Pilots After getting Commissioned as an Officer in the VF-8 |
|
|
BFM COMPLETION - Awarded to Pilots After Successfully Completing Basic Flight Manuevering (BFM) Training. |
|
|
MISSION EXCELLENCE - Awarded to Pilots After Flying in Their First Squad Match and Showing Dedication to the Squad. |

|
CADET AWARD- Awarded to Cadets After Enlisting in the VF-8 |

|
PILOT WINGS - Awarded to Pilots who have Successfully Completed All Flight Training. |
