Ranks/Promotions


Are Based On the Following:

	1)Flight Skill Improvement
	2)Activity In The Squad
	3)How you Represent the Squad online.


		To be eligible for a promotion a pilot must Excel at their current rank
		And show marked improvement in specific areas of flight.   When a Pilot
		has been in the squad the required amount of the time and feels confident
		of their flight skills, the Pilot may Email the Personnel Officer Requesting
		a Promotion Evalution.  Upon which time the Personnel Officer Shall
		 Evaluate the Pilot in the 3 Above Categories and Arrange for a Flight
		Skills Test. Please keep in mind that harassing fellow pilots for a Promotion
		will reflect Poorly upon your Promotion Request.  But, all pilots are Strongly
		Encouraged to Request a Promotion when they feel they are ready. There
		are No free promotions, you must prove to the Command Staff that you
		are deserving of the promotion.

 

 

Rank Requirements / Flight Skills Tests

All tests will be conducted at these settings

 

PO3

Petty Officer Third Class PO3 E-4

Initial Rank Within VF-8. Must Be Able to Land and Takeoff both Solo and in a Formation with at Least one other Plane and Demonstrate Sufficient Combat Skills. 1 Kill in 5 deaths against Recruiter.

PO2

Petty Officer Second Class PO2 E-5

Must Have Completed Basic Flight Training. Must Land Safely 2 out of 5 Attempts. Must Safely Taxi to Within 10 feet of wing tips of Promotion Officer. 1 kill in 7 deaths against 2 Promotion Officers. Must have held the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class for at least 1 Week.

PO1

Petty Officer First Class PO1 E-6

Must Have Completed Advance Combat Manuevering. Must Land Safely 3 out of 5 Solo Attempts. Must Land Safely In Formation With Promotion Officers in 3 attempts staying within 20 feet of wing tips at all times. Must Safely Taxi to Within 10 feet of wing tips of Promotion Officer. 2 kills in 8 deaths against 2 Promotion Officers. Must have held the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class for at least 1 week.

CPO

Chief Petty Officer CPO E-7

Must Land and Takeoff Safely 3 out of 4 attempts. Must Land Safely in Formation with 2 Promotion Officers staying within 20 feet of wing tips at all times in 2 attempts. Must Successfully Takeoff in Formation and stay within 20 feet of wing tips. 3 Kills in 9 deaths against 2 Promotion Officers. Must have held the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class for 2 weeks.
Ensign

Ensign ENS O-1

Must Land and Takeoff Safely 2 Consecutive times with no Crashes. Must Land Safely in Formation with Promotion Officers staying within 20 feet of wing tips at all times in 2 attempts. Must Taxi to within 10 feet of wing tips of Promotion Officer. Must Have 1 kill in 5 kill Match against 2 Promotions Officers. Must have held the position of Chief Petty Officer for 2 weeks.

LT JG

Lieutenant Junior Grade LTJG O-2

Must Takeoff and Land Safely 3 Consecutive Times with No Crashes. Must Land Safely in Formation with Promotion Officers staying within 10 feets of wing tips at all times in 1 attempt. Must Have 1 Kill in a 3 kill match with Promotions Officers. Must have held the rank of Ensign for at least 1 month.

LT

Lieutenant LT O-3

Must Takeoff and Land Safely 5 Consecutive Times with no crashes. Must complete a Touch-n-go down the entire length of runway. That is, Must touch front wheels on runway and go the entire length of runway without letting the back wheel touch runway. Must Land on a carrier 1 time in 3 attempts. Pilots may bolster but crashes count as attempts. Must have 2 kills in 4 kill match. Must have Recruited at least 1 Pilot who is with the Squad longer than 1 Months. Must have held the rank of Lieutenant JG for at least 1 Month.

Lt CDR

Lieutenant Commander LCDR O-4

Must fly inverted down runway within 10 feet AGL of the ground, land successful, taxi to within 5 feet of wing tips of trainer, and takeoff in formation; Must complete the Entire sequence without crashing. Must Sucessfully Land on Carrier 2 times in 4 Attempts. Pilots may bolster but crashes count as attempts. Must be online an average of at least 16hrs a week. Must Be familiar with all squad policies, procedures, etc. Must have 4 kills in a 6 kill match against Promotion Officers. Must Have held the rank of Lieutenant for 2 Months.

CDR

Commander CDR O-5

Must Be Carrier Day/Night Certified. Must be online at least 16hrs per week. Must demonstrate outstanding Service to VF-8. Must have held the rank of Lt Commander for at least 2 Months.

CPT

Captain CAPT O-6

*Appointed by Command Staff Only*

 


 

Additional Information

 

1. If a Pilot Fails the Flight Skills Test, He must wait at least 1 week before requesting a promotion again.

 

2. The Command Staff my Refuse a promotion Request at any time when it feels the pilot has not logged enough flight training or flight practice or if they feel the pilot has not conducted himself in a manner becoming a pilot in VF-8.

3. All Recruits will be assigned to the VN-D8 Training Division and must Create a VN-D8 Callsign to use until they achieve the status of VF-8. Once Achieving the Status of VF-8 Pilot, the Pilot will be placed in a division within the squad.
